Summary of Kentucky Statutes (January 2002)
Kentucky statutorily grants a patient the right of access to his
medical records in the possession of a health care provider or a
hospital. The state does not have a general, comprehensive statute
prohibiting the disclosure of confidential medical information. Rather,
these privacy protections are addressed in statutes governing specific
