Summary of Indiana Statutes (July 2002)
Indiana statutorily grants a patient the right of access to his own
medical records maintained by health care providers, including
physicians, hospitals, psychologists and others. The state also has
statutory provisions governing the disclosure of confidential health
care information in the possession of health care providers and HMOs.
In addition, there are privacy protections addressed in statutes
governing specific medical conditions. Click here for the Indiana General Assembly Web site.
